COURSE OUTLINE

Week 1: Shamatha Meditation 

Start with the simple basics of calm-abiding meditation to begin soothing and focusing your mind.

Week 2: Pranayama

Learn simple yet powerful breath-work techniques to support in help sharpen your practice.

Week 3: Visualization 

Deepen your work through some meditative visualization practices.

Week 4: Movement 

Try on a few moving meditations to break up your sitting routine and offer a new perspective.

Week 5: Active Wakefulness 

AKA mindfulness practice - an advanced form of meditation that heightens awareness. 

Week 6: Compassion Meditation 

A traditional practice rooted in Buddhism based around opening the heart chakra, sending blessings to others and yourself and tapping into the infinite well of Loving-Kindness and Compassion that lives in you.

The Grand Finale:

Day-long Silent Retreat at Home

Meet Your Instructor

Jane Lyon - AKA Thupten Yang-chen Tenzin - has been a devout Vajrayana Buddhist Practitioner for over ten years.

This is the fifth round of Meditation Mastery that Jane has hosted and it has cultivated a lovely, warm community of dedicated meditators who are excited to sit, show up and support one another on this spiritual path of life’s ups and downs. This course is intentionally held during the holidays to create a safe space for those who may need it the most. 

Jane is known for being a strict and disciplined, but also a soft, gentle and loving teacher. She holds her students to the same high standards that her masters have held for her.

In this community, we value mastery, integrity and devotion to our spiritual paths - for the benefit of all sentient beings.

I’ve tried meditating before and it doesn’t work for me.

So many of my best students have said this to me before they joined the course. 

It’s not that meditation doesn’t work for you - it’s that you haven’t put in the time or the right technique in order to experience the benefits of this practice. Meditation is for EVERYONE as it has been proven to have endless benefits to your brain + mental health.

I don’t have enough time to meditate, let alone engage in a 6-week course.

Perhaps this is a sign to intentionally cut back some time for self-care. 

This course is actually going to teach you how to get your time back, you’ll start spending your time more intentionally. Students report feeling more mindful in the way they spend their days, like they have more time now.  

Having a disciplinary routine like meditation, actually reduces cognitive load. This leads to less chances of anxiety, overwhelm and stress. 

I’m not sure if I can stay disciplined enough to complete the course.

Right now, you probably aren’t disciplined enough to complete the course. The course is what teaches you to be disciplined. Leave the disciplinary part up to me okay?

Good! If you feeling like you are investing a lot - then you will show up more fully. You will only see results if you show up fully. I expect full dedication to this process.
